Donna Rose

Donna Rose Law’s paintings are rooted in a lifelong connection to the natural world. Growing up on the edge of a forest in Northwestern Ontario, she found early inspiration in her mother’s garden and the surrounding woods that served as her childhood playground. After raising her family and building a career, she pursued Fine Arts at the University of Victoria, where her passion for painting was rekindled. Inspired by walks in Victoria and along the trails of Vancouver Island, Donna is drawn to the quiet beauty found in small details — the way sunlight rests on a petal, the textures
revealed in shadow, and the interplay between light and dark.
As her practice evolves, she increasingly explores inner landscapes that arise from memory and intuition rather than direct observation. This inward process has introduced bolder colour, gestural marks, and abstract forms into her florals and landscapes. Her work invites viewers into contemplative spaces of reflection — intimate moments that offer sanctuary and a gentle reconnection with one’s own knowing.
