About Mary Jo Hughes
Medium: Oil Painting
Mary Jo Hughes worked as an art curator across Canada for more than 30 years. She is now a full-time Galiano resident and oil painter. In her work she is drawn to imagery that suggests passage from one place to another – that invites us to consider where we are standing, the far shore, and what lies in between.
Her studio is located on top of a 270-foot cliff that overlooks Montague Harbour.
